So I haven’t worked the past 2 days plus today. I don’t know why, I could use as much training as possible. I’m also scheduled for like 10 hours this week. Seriously? Is it because they think I don’t like money? Because that’s definitely not the case. Well, not so much than the money, but the shiny things I can exchange for it. Though to be fair, I think we only have 80 weddings to do this week anyway.

Well, it has been quite an interesting few days. I’d have said something but as I found out hours ago, dogs had chewed through my internet cable outside the house and it wasn’t simply the provider being stupid.
I like the saying, “May you live in Interesting Times”. I first heard of it in Drew Curtis’s It’s not News and it says that it’s a curse of Chinese origin. In contextual relation the book I gathered it from, it’s essentially wishing bad news upon people. Natural disasters, diseases, terrorist attacks, all make interesting times and, in a sense, interesting news. Contextually, that’s what it means, but interesting times isn’t necessarily limited to bad things; in that sense, the phrase has quite a bit of relevance to the past few days.

So I had a good morning today. Tired of doing fuck all, I decided to go driving. That’s it. I just kept driving until I ran out of road. Well, that or got bored. I ended up tracing the island’s coast for like an hour and got to hit some winding roads and valleys. God, it was such a great cruise. I neglected to bring my camera with me again because I’m stupid, but this will be repeated in the coming week.

I needa go pay my net bill ASAP. I was gonna do it yesterday, but Alan told me that I should expect a call back Monday at earliest, so I opted to stay home and camp ma phone that day. Also because I thought yesterday was Monday and MCV wouldn’t be open (labor day).
Well I didn’t get a call yesterday (no biggie) and I figured I’d get it later in the week, so I decided to go try and pay off the bill today. Well shit, today is Monday. Yesterday was not. Apparently yesterday was wasted and today MCV is closed as expected. Oh I needa get my shit together.

Haha, oh wow. I’m watching Zombie Attack Swim Team vs. The Undead and it’s pretty much an entire movie thinly disguised as an excuse to get Sasa Handa naked. No I didn’t know her name prior to watching this movie, but she seems to have a lot of topless scenes for even a horror movie. I’d say she deserves to at least have her name known, yeah? This movie’s hilariously bad though once you get passed the awesomely blatant homoerotic undertones (let’s get nekkid and take a shower together!). Update! Okay, I’m watching the movie as I type and this shit just got real. I think this might be a uhhh, well… Figures that I’d have a softcore porn flick on my hard drive for nearly a year and not even know it. Oh god, how many people have I shared this file with?

Baboosh! Epic, two-song victory dance with JXL’s “Billy Club” and Teddybears’ “Ahead of my Time” performed! Why? Got that call back for interview two for the videographer gig. It’s tomorrow at 10 and I’m SO PSYCHED.
Not much else going on other than that. Got in touch with some folk back home then searched a desk drawer and found a lighter that looks like a gun, a 10mm wrench and some unmarked pills in a baggie.
>__> I plan on McGuyvering them into a flamethrower. We’ll see how that goes.

Well this morning started rotten enough. I said yesterday I was going to send out my portfolios and what not. That didn’t get to happen as I’d like it. When I went from big rig (my big, quad-core storage-whore) to little lappy, I lost about 700gigs worth of space, so I got a little liberal with the delete button on old directories. Apparently my portfolio of writing samples was in one of em. Yeap. Blows. So all I could send was my graphics work which is… really irrelevant. So yeah, this morning I wasn’t in the best of moods.
At around 10 this morning though I had another interview though for the videographer position at a different company. Well, for the first time ever, I think I had a good interview! The guy who interviewed me is a dude named Alan and he was really cool. Kind of reminds me of someone that I’d expect my Aunt to be friends with to be honest. He showed me around the office and the equipment and I got a long with him very well. Apparently the job is pretty much shooting weddings and the pay and schedule are peeeerfect. I won’t be rolling in an Aston Martin anytime soon, but it’s very comfortable. The pay at the first job (that I’m not so sure I’m quite qualified for) eclipses this one’s majorly, but there’s a point where I had to stop and think, “I’d rather work with cool people doing things I like, then get paid ass loads to tolerate the opposite.” Life doesn’t always allow us to do this, so if I’m gonna do it, I better do it now while I can.
Anyway, Alan said he’d call me back for a second interview and I’m quite excited and I really hope it all goes well. Even if I don’t get the job, I think that the experience of being a favorable candidate at a good job is enough to make me feel content for a while. lawl, I am so easily pleased.
I definitely think I’m going to need my own car for this gig though. Me, being me, wants another sports car. Guam is such a perfect island for driving that I’m really leaning towards a convertible. If I can afford to go newish, I’d like an S2K or a G35, but if I’m going old school used, maybe a 240SX or an MX-5. Probably the latter since who knows how long I’ll be here.
I also found out we have Taco Bell on Guam! The prices here suck ass though. What’s new?

Wooh, well I just got back from my first interview. Ummm, it was very, uhh, strange. Turns out the company is kind of an umbrella over a bunch of organizations and the position I applied for (that was labeled simply as ‘editor’) was actually the editor… of an entire newspaper… that is for an island Air Force Base. Well, wow, talk about your opportunities. The starting salary was quite generous which totally threw me back in my seat and well, holy crap, if I get this job…

Oh, I got responses to some of my resume throw outs! One company looking for an editor (editor of what, I am unsure, but I can do it!) another looking for a videographer. Videographer, photographer, same thing. lol I kid, but I am suddenly ridiculously thankful that I got into hobby video editing and learned to use Premier and Vegas. The first interview is tomorrow, and the second one I have to give the guy a call back to schedule it. Both jobs look pretty ace, but I checked out the first one’s office and it was really nice. I’m kinda looking forward to tomorrow’s interview because a secret part of me likes dressing up in a tie and waking around like I’m important lawl.
