I’ve been finding myself coming home these afternoons feeling pretty sore. Mostly on my shoulders and arms (from the camera), but my face as well since I’m finding myself smiling and laughing so much. I love the people I work with and that’s just awesome.
Yesterday, Erik and I were talking about Roller Coasters, Bungee Jumping, Skydiving and other shit concerning the safety of them all. This came back to me just now because I was watching Crank 2 this morning and was just looking at random photo work with a piece of a guy skydiving. I told Erik that Roller Coasters are okay with me, but Skydiving is a big hell no just because I don’t believe it’s safe at all. Roller coasters are relatively low altitude and if shit goes wrong you’re at least in a moderately sized metal cage, skydiving is pretty much suicide from the start with a back up plan. Don’t let my ego fool you, I’m mostly very terrified by the idea, but I really wouldn’t be able to stomach what my friends would say about me if I died from a skydiving accident.
I envision a, “Did you hear about Ryan?”
“No, what happened?”
“He died the other day in an accident.”
“OMG, are you serious? That’s fucked up. Shit happens sometimes.”
“Nah man, you don’t understand, he died skydiving.”
“Wait, what?”
“Yeah, his chutes didn’t open.”
“Wait, he died because he jumped out of an airplane mid-flight and his parachute didn’t open?”
“Yeah, what are the chances, right?”
“HE JUMPED OUT OF A PLANE?!”
It’d probably turn into a conversation about “dumb negro” this and “darwin award” that. I wouldn’t blame em, I’d probably react the same way to most things that are done only after having signed a waiver. Anyway, right now I’m going to (try and find) the post office to see what’s on the up. My fridge is emptyish with my only food being Oranges, White Bread, Peanut Butter and Ice Cream. My buddy Jordan fronted me some money for another friend I sold a fridge to that all of a sudden went broke. If I have mail then I may have a proper dinner paid for. lmao
