Wouldn’t you know it, I actually spent money on multimedia. It’s rare enough as it is for me to buy a CD, or see a film in theatres or buy videogames, but I actually did all of the above within the same hour today. My main goal was actually to just pay the net bill (which I was apparently over a week early on, so go me), but I figure while I was up and out I may as well hit the mall. Bad idea for my jobless ass and it’s wallet, I guess.
Knowing practically no one around here + having no job pretty much leaves me with a lot of idle time that I should use for photography, but that generally doesn’t happen. So I figure I’d check out a movie at the mall. I was thinking about seeing Inglourious Basterds so I figure I may as well. If I’m gonna pay to see anything it’ll be a movie about killing gnatzees made by Quentin Tarantino. Well, I was a little early for the show so I wandered the mall.
Ended up ordering (since they weren’t stocking) Psychostick’s Sandwich CD. I’m very fond of buying CD’s from artists who aren’t ass-goblins about getting their music downloaded (for reference, my last CD purchase was a Ben Fold’s CD because I LOVED the Way to Normal “leak”). Anyway, I ordered that, hit up the bookstore and picked up something random. I believe it’s called Downtown Owl. I love it so far and it’s really the kind of book I’d like to write one day.
From there I hit a Gamestop to kill time. What my friends and I loved doing back in the day was shelf shopping for games to go home and pirate lmao. Other than that, it’s very rare for me to actually buy a physical game. Unless it’s on sale of course. I actually spotted Prey on the shelf for $4.99. I bugged out and it was a DEFINITE buy. Then I walked around to the other side of the shelf and saw the Limited Collector’s version (with some extra crap and a metal tin) for the same price. Now THAT, was awesome. I decided while I was gleefully throwing away money I might as well pick up Monster Madness. It was only $5.99 too. In fact, between the two of them they were cheaper than the book I bought. Funny how that works.
Anyway, I hit up Inglourious Basterds afterward and it’s such a fantastically bad movie. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it, but it’s in the sense that I also loved Dude, Where’s my Car?. I dunno, I don’t wanna describe a movie as fun, but the movie was FUN. The accents were silly, the violence was over the top and the characters were ridiculous and it was just a hoot.
I really do like Guam’s mall because, I mean, it’s just like I remembered it from when I was like 5. They had this big Rube Goldburg machine-cage-thing with basketballs and poolballs and stuff doing random crap. I used to love sitting their staring at it forever when I was little. To this day it’s still there exactly as it was before. It’s this lame pink/salmon color that matches nothing else in the mall, but man is it just cool. I wanna go take pictures of it, but I have some sort of “I don’t wanna look like a tourist” complex. lol
Anyway, I think I’m gonna go feed the dog and cats now. They’re gonna be so disappointed when I run out leftovers to feed them and they have to go back to dog food.
