It gets Better

Well this morning started rotten enough. I said yesterday I was going to send out my portfolios and what not. That didn’t get to happen as I’d like it. When I went from big rig (my big, quad-core storage-whore) to little lappy, I lost about 700gigs worth of space, so I got a little liberal with the delete button on old directories. Apparently my portfolio of writing samples was in one of em. Yeap. Blows. So all I could send was my graphics work which is… really irrelevant. So yeah, this morning I wasn’t in the best of moods.

At around 10 this morning though I had another interview though for the videographer position at a different company. Well, for the first time ever, I think I had a good interview! The guy who interviewed me is a dude named Alan and he was really cool. Kind of reminds me of someone that I’d expect my Aunt to be friends with to be honest. He showed me around the office and the equipment and I got a long with him very well. Apparently the job is pretty much shooting weddings and the pay and schedule are peeeerfect. I won’t be rolling in an Aston Martin anytime soon, but it’s very comfortable. The pay at the first job (that I’m not so sure I’m quite qualified for) eclipses this one’s majorly, but there’s a point where I had to stop and think, “I’d rather work with cool people doing things I like, then get paid ass loads to tolerate the opposite.” Life doesn’t always allow us to do this, so if I’m gonna do it, I better do it now while I can.

Anyway, Alan said he’d call me back for a second interview and I’m quite excited and I really hope it all goes well. Even if I don’t get the job, I think that the experience of being a favorable candidate at a good job is enough to make me feel content for a while. lawl, I am so easily pleased.

I definitely think I’m going to need my own car for this gig though. Me, being me, wants another sports car. Guam is such a perfect island for driving that I’m really leaning towards a convertible. If I can afford to go newish, I’d like an S2K or a G35, but if I’m going old school used, maybe a 240SX or an MX-5. Probably the latter since who knows how long I’ll be here.

I also found out we have Taco Bell on Guam! The prices here suck ass though. What’s new?
